A group of students in Year 8 and 9 from Ramsey Grammar School have planned, organised and run a treasure hunt for the whole of Key Stage 3 students to take part in. The treasure hunt is based upon the school’s values of the ‘Way of Being’. There are 42 rocks which have been painted with 42 symbols and a statement from the Way of Being. Students are to work either in teams or individually to complete an answer sheet whereby they are to find a rock, find the statement on the answer sheet and record what symbol is on the back of the rock. All 42 rocks are hidden around the school buildings.
Students also presented the concept and launched the treasure hunt to the whole of Key Stage 3 in their weekly assembly. The treasure hunt runs for one week and there will be prizes available for the students with the most correct answers. This is an activity which is bringing together part of the school community and helping students to become familiar with the school’s ‘Way of Being’.
