A brand new arts and crafts centre has opened up near Laxey Wheel.
The Salmon Lake Centre, part of the complex that includes the tea rooms, restaurant and function suite, features work by local artists and artisans and is open daily between 10.30am and 3.30pm.
Current artists in residence are Peter Lloyd Davies and John Halsall. Photography is also on display by various artists, including Diane McCudden who is the Salmon Lake Centre’s new manager.
Diane said: ‘It is our aim to support local artists and craft makers. We are always looking for new and unusual gifts for our centre and our doors are always open to new artists wishing to exhibit their work.’
Christmas stock is now arriving daily and the centre has bespoke gifts for residents and visitors alike, including ceramics, hand crafted jewellery, stained glass window ornaments, greetings cards, soaps and body balms.
The Salmon Lake Centre Christmas Fayre will be held on Sunday November 17 in the adjacent function room. The Fayre takes place from 11am to 4.30pm and entry is 50p. Anyone wishing to book a table can contact Diane on 860840. A donation will be made to Manx Cancer Help.
